About Me

I love how amazing the Human body and mind is and it never ceases to surprise me in its ability to rehabilitate, retrain, refocus and realign (usually with the right kind of TLC and guidance). There is always so much to learn and so much to find out about and I’ve been on this journey for quite some time now and intend to continue ‘finding out’ for many many years to come! I am a fully qualified and insured Level 4 Pilates Instructor, Level 4 Lower Back Pain Specialist with L3 Exercise Referral, L3 Pre and Postnatal Specialist and Nutrition qualifications. I am a registered member of CIMSPA and insured through UK Coaching and I have been Teaching Pilates since 2005.

I also had my first baby in April 2016 and my second little one in Sept 2018.

Pilates instructor delivering classes in Plymouth, South West

How it all began

I discovered Pilates after leaving drama school and traveling around the world in 2002. I really enjoyed my first experience of Pilates in a group mixed-level class in Sydney, Australia. Upon my return to the UK I discovered I would need to earn an income doing something I enjoyed in between acting jobs (I now enjoy doing acting jobs in between Pilates!). I was determined to become an instructor and so began my studies  in London (Anatomy and Physiology, Circuits Instruction, Health and Safety in Workplace, OCR in Pilates Matwork not to mention VTCT in Massage plus Indian Head and Hot Stones thrown in for good measure!). I taught my first ever Pilates class in 2005 in a busy Gym in High Holborn, London and felt petrified!!! But I was inspired and I loved it. I moved to Plymouth in 2008 and began teaching mixed ability Pilates classes and Beginners. After gaining my Pregnancy and Postnatal Qualifications with Body Control Pilates, London, I began teaching courses in these two areas. I have since gained level 3 qualifications in Pre and Postnatal exercise, along with attending continual workshops and training courses in and around this specialist area (pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse awareness, Diastasis Recti etc) and have also studied my level 3 Pilates Instructor, Level 3 exercise referral, Level 3 Nutrition and become a Level 4 Lower Back Pain Specialist. I’ve recently expanded my Class timetable by adding more sessions due to the demand and taken them ONLINE too since the pandemic, offering HYBRID classes both IN VENUE and ONLINE as well as PRE-RECORDED Classes and Courses.
